These are great practice swords. I've been using them for full contact sparring for months now. The only thing I've noticed is the hand guards tend to loosen relatively easily during hard strikes. Not really an issue. After using traditional wooden bokken for years, I'm never going back. I don't know why they're so expensive all of a sudden.

It may be a replica but it's a nice one and ranks higher than other swords I've bought. Decent edge. The ronin-02 has the best edge of mine for the three but I like my collection to have different looking swords or at least saya/tsukas so this was necessary to add to the collection.

beautiful sword. was NOT customized as per my request(they could have just said no, i still would have bought it), but whatever, i'll just buy more swords(probably not from this seller, tho). it is still a fine addition to my collection. on par with other swords in this price range, but barely. hamon appears to be real, as far as i can tell. beautiful, shiny finish, almost flawless. unique saya and tsuba. i got the sword in the pics and i am happy with it. it makes a LOUD chopping noise, which is very cool, but i think i would have preferred it without bo-hi, as i am more interested in devastating damage than sounding cool. i do not think this one will be getting much use in the bamboo grove.

This Cold Steel Warrior Katana is better than expected. I have had the sword for two weeks now.The sword arrived with some dirt on it that wiped off easily. I agree with other reviewers that this katana is blade heavy making quick recovery during forms more than a bit difficult. The blade is sharp enough to catch on a thumb nail when scraping over the nail to check sharpness but not shaving sharp. The katana cuts completely through water bottles better than many of the videos depict on You Tube.

I have a black belt in kenjutsu (Kuki Shinden-Ryu Happo Bikenjutsu) and this is one of my favorite swords. Even though it was not manufactured in a traditional way, it is proof that modern manufacturing techniques can mass produce swords that any ancient samurai would have envied. this is a great looking sword and based on the sword alone it was good. Mine got damaged in shipping because the box it was shipped in was too small, so the hilt end is "rubbed" and the blade is very difficult to get out of the scabbard. I hope that they can fix this for me. If they can, then i'd change this to a 5 star. :)

After doing a lot of research on the types of steel and the way it is made, I settled on the mid range steel in this sword which is not as brittle at the higher rated steel but also maintains its edge better than the lower rated steel. My first katana and I love it. Well balanced blade and the fact that they engrave for free is nice. I got the electroplated black instead of red. The way they ship it is fantastic. This is an awesome weapon. Yes, weapon. This is not a toy or a show piece. This Katana came very sharp and battle ready. A few passes in my ceramic sharpener and it is razor sharp. The details, from the braided silk over sting ray skin hilt to the carbon steel blade are impressive. And I paid about half the price listed on the "Cold Steel" site. Bottom line... If you want a heavy sword that is a SWORD you can't beat this blade.

This is my third katana and I instantly love this one the most. It is heavier than the others but the balance makes it feel perfect. All the fittings are tight and beautiful. The scabbard fits tightly too(actually too tight, but it will loosen over time). It arrived with light oil on it, but I found 1 spot of rust(about 2mm long by .25mm wide - tiny) that I will sand off before I sharpen. Oh yeah, it has an edge but I wouldn't call it sharp. It wouldn't pass the paper test out of the box, which is fine by me because I like to sharpen by blade myself. Looks like the images. I would have liked if it had come with a certificate about its HRC rating. Came with a blue cloth cover bag. I planned to take off the handle and give the blade a black satin rustoleum coat, but it is so beautiful I'm not sure if I will now.

Looked at reviews and other swords(like the one that comes with 3 and stand) and decided to get this one. BEST decision!! Excellent training value for your $$. I own several of these. They are basically unbreakable, unlike oak or kamagong wood bokken, of which I have broken many. These polypro bokken are not as rigid as wood, so be aware of that. Also you'll want to put tape on the grip area, the polypro gets slippery when you're training and your hands are sweaty.

wellll, it's not perfect. they never are. i do not expect perfection for 320 bux. the blade has 2 or 3 small blemishes, little scratches or marks. not a big deal. if i use it a few times, i will do worse. for the most part, it looks like it has never been used. quite happy with this purchase.this is the 2nd smallest of the set. the spring sakura is the smallest(and my favorite), the other two are pretty beastly, and unwieldy. i have not bent any of them yet, and they clean up pretty easily (stay off the mirror finish part when rubbing, i accidentally dulled a few inches of mine on one of the other swords). behold, the whole dragon king 4 seasons set...

beautiful sword. was NOT customized as per my request(they could have just said no, i still would have bought it), but whatever, i'll just buy more swords(probably not from this seller, tho). it is still a fine addition to my collection. on par with other swords in this price range, but barely. hamon appears to be real, as far as i can tell. beautiful, shiny finish, almost flawless. unique saya and tsuba. i got the sword in the pics and i am happy with it. it makes a LOUD chopping noise, which is very cool, but i think i would have preferred it without bo-hi, as i am more interested in devastating damage than sounding cool. i do not think this one will be getting much use in the bamboo grove.

This sword is a beautiful sword, and such a bargain. The Tsuba (hand guard) is absolutely gorgeous, the pommel is secured tightly, and the sword is extremely well balanced. The blade in beautiful as well, you can see that it's folded steel and mine came extremely sharp. The scabbard is nicely crafted and fits the sword perfectly. this is a good quality sword for practicing but a fraction of the cost of a Japanese sword. Beware the blade is extremely sharp and highly recommend the maintenance kit as the sword needs to be cleaned and oiled every time you use it and at least monthly if just displayed.

I am very pleased with this Musashi sword. It arrived quite sharp and with no issues such as warped blades. It included a cotton sword bag for storage and a certificate of authenticity. My sword had a slight rattle in the hilt. I was concerned that the hilt was loose, but, after removing the pegs, I was completely unable to budge the hilt. Turned out that the "rattle" was actually the Menuki, the little brass good luck charm that Samurai had placed under the wrappings. This is probably one of the best swords you can get in this price range.

OK, so its not a real, folded steel samurai sword. Those cost thousands, and you get what you pay for, however, compare the price to an $85 Ka-bar, and you begin to see how reasonably priced this sword is. I grew up Hawaii a mostly Asian culture and I have wanted a great Katana for about 24 years. I have been to Japan, South Korea and China. I have looked at many shops and I have always found cheap swords that weren't worth the time or money. This sword on the other hand, is worth every dime. It is solid, well made, and I am proud to have this in my house. I'm not hating on any other brand, I have just found this sword to be worth the price. I usualy love cold steel knives. This katana arrived a bit sub standard. There are rust spots about 2 inches long on the face of the blade. Also on the spine at about the center point on the blade there is a 3 inch rust spot. Most of the length of the blade was dull except for the tip. It appears as if the katana had been stored for a very long time or handled much before it was sold to me. I will however keep it and attempt to buff out the rust then sharpen.

This is a pretty nice sword however for the money there are better swords. For the price I couldn't be happier with this sword. I debated spending a lot more money and getting a sword with much more pedigree. I'm very glad I decided to take a risk. There is no wobble at all in the sword. The blade is beautiful and for entertainment I went outside and pruned a few trees. wellll, it's not perfect. they never are. i do not expect perfection for 320 bux. the blade has 2 or 3 small blemishes, little scratches or marks. not a big deal. if i use it a few times, i will do worse. for the most part, it looks like it has never been used. quite happy with this purchase.this is the 2nd smallest of the set. the spring sakura is the smallest(and my favorite), the other two are pretty beastly, and unwieldy. i have not bent any of them yet, and they clean up pretty easily (stay off the mirror finish part when rubbing, i accidentally dulled a few inches of mine on one of the other swords). behold, the whole dragon king 4 seasons set...

This is a sturdy katana, thicker than most blades used for tatami cutting. It is alo heavier and takes some practice to get used to, but when you are used to it, it slices through tatami mats like it is air! Very happy with it, so far no bend in it, while thinner blade katanas in use need work when hitting tatami the wrong way.

I love this weapon. It maybe lighter than wood, but it is far more durable. I also like its lightness because it can used with speed. I plan to get a second one to have a matching pair. I have 2 Wooden Wakazashi Bokken and 1 Wooden Tanto Bokken, and all three are stored because they get chipped and start to split. I will only use Cold Steel Trainers from now on. The Cold Steel trainers don't have the distracting vibration that wood creates hitting a target. Lastly, a well placed strike with a Cold Steel trainer can be just as brutal as a Wooden Bokken strike.

I received my Katana about an hour ago. I couldn't be more pleased. It is beautiful! It came well packaged and in perfect condition. It exceeded my every expectation. I have read in reviews of other sword makers how the blade arrived scratched and/or the parts of the Katana were loose. Not with this one! It is a solid weapon. And I do mean weapon. I test the sharpness of my knives by pushing them through thin paper, not slicing, pushing. If they go through the paper without drag, they are sharp. My Katana went through the paper like it wasn't there right out of the box. The fabricators were very confident that I would be happy with their Katana before I received it. Now I know why. I'm not an expert on Katanas, but I have done a lot of reading. I believe the steel was really folded and the Hamon is real. The blade came wrapped coated in oil and wrapped in plastic to protect the Saya from the oil. Even the bag, though not the one pictured, is beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone and I am considering buying another.

After doing a lot of research on the types of steel and the way it is made, I settled on the mid range steel in this sword which is not as brittle at the higher rated steel but also maintains its edge better than the lower rated steel. This is a nice trade-off for optimal flexibility and sharpness. The sword itself came with a certificate of authenticity, which was a great touch since this made a beautiful gift for my friend.

Mine got damaged in shipping because the box it was shipped in was too small, so the hilt end is "rubbed" and the blade is very difficult to get out of the scabbard. These are great practice swords. I've been using them for full contact sparring for months now. The only thing I've noticed is the hand guards tend to loosen relatively easily during hard strikes. Not really an issue. After using traditional wooden bokken for years, I'm never going back. I don't know why they're so expensive all of a sudden.

I was very impressed by the quality of this katana when I pulled it out of the box. The blade was well made and came with a certificate of authenticity that detailed the basic qualities of the sword as a whole. I wouldn't say it was razor sharp but it was sharp enough to do the basic cut tests, in which it held as expected for it's particular price. The artwork on the handle is well crafted and gives it it's own unique look which I personally like. wellll, it's not perfect. they never are. i do not expect perfection for 320 bux. the blade has 2 or 3 small blemishes, little scratches or marks. not a big deal. if i use it a few times, i will do worse. for the most part, it looks like it has never been used. quite happy with this purchase.this is the 2nd smallest of the set. the spring sakura is the smallest(and my favorite), the other two are pretty beastly, and unwieldy. i have not bent any of them yet, and they clean up pretty easily (stay off the mirror finish part when rubbing, i accidentally dulled a few inches of mine on one of the other swords). behold, the whole dragon king 4 seasons set...

Believe me...it's an outstanding sword... Worthy in every way. I've tried several other products (all more expensive), but this one is exceptional. In some months I will look for the Emperor sword. I'm just afraid of paying more forthe same or less quality.
